Hi! I’m Dan, and I am preparing to move to Japan this November to serve with Operation Mobilisation (OM).

My heart for mission began several years ago through short-term outreaches in Eastern Europe, including time in Moldova and Romania. However, God began turning my focus toward Japan in 2021 in an unexpected way. After a secular job opportunity there fell through, I found that instead of moving on, I couldn't stop thinking about the nation.

Even though it was a big disappointment at the time, it led me to a season of prayer and learning. I discovered that Japan is one of the largest unreached people groups in the world, with less than 1% of the population knowing Jesus. In my heart I sensed calling to go and share the hope of the Gospel there.

I am joining OM Japan as a trainee for an initial two-year commitment. My first priority will be language and culture—essential training for building meaningful relationships and sharing my faith effectively. During this time, I will also be working alongside various OM teams across the country. Together with the leadership in Japan, I’ll be discerning where my specific skills and passions can best serve the long-term needs of the Japanese church.

I cannot do this alone! I am looking for a team of partners to stand with me through prayer and financial support.

• Pray: Please pray for my transition in November and for perseverance during the intense language and cultural learning process. Please also pray for wisdom and discernment—for both myself and OM Japan leadership—as we seek God’s direction for my long-term placement after the initial training.
