Serving with OM in the UK

Philippa and Andrew Sinclair have served with OM for over 30 years, each spending 19 years with OM’s Ship Ministry, most recently in Germany, before they returned to the UK in 2004.

Philippa has been the Personnel Administrator since 2006.  She works in many areas of administration for the personnel department, handling initial enquiries from those wanting to know more about joining OM and processing their applications.

Andrew is now the Data Protection Officer for OM in the UK.  His role involves ensuring that OM in the UK protects OM's partners personal data lawfully, fairly and transparently. 

His role includes the following responsibilities:- 

• Monitoring OM in the UK’s compliance with the UK GDPR and other data protection laws to ensure we process personal data correctly.
• Keeping OM UK’s Data Protection Policies UpToDate.
• Data protection awareness-raising as well as training for current and new staff.
• Reporting to the OM UK Leadership on Data Protection obligations and issues
• Being the contact point for the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) for any issues which may arise which need to be reported or responded to.

As long-term workers with Operation Mobilisation, Andrew and Philippa need to raise financial support for their ministry. They are always looking for more people to become part of their support team.
