Yesterday, February 5th, we celebrated and acknowledged the confidence, strength, and character of girls and women in the world of sports!

Last year marked the 50th anniversary of the Women’s Sports Foundation (About NGWSD - Women's Sports Foundation), an organisation dedicated to unlocking potential and providing support for female athletes. Yet, the journey of women in sports has been one of perseverance—from being excluded from the modern Olympics in 1896 to finally competing in the 1920 Games, with a separate "Women’s Olympics" held in the 1920s and '30s. As believers, we recognise that God has created each of us in His image, with a unique purpose and a joy for life—including sports! Repeatedly, we've seen how sports can be a powerful platform for sharing the love of Jesus and advancing His kingdom.

1. Brazil: Agape Sports Ministry

Agape Sports Ministry is a social project in São Paulo working through sports to connect with children and teenagers, living in high-risk situations, in a poor area of the city. Through football, friendship, Bible studies, games, discipleship and more, over 300+ teens have been learning about the gospel. The team in Brazil need people with open hearts to serve a needy community, prepare to spend time with them, and have a deep desire to show the love and light of Christ.

If you have a passion for football while sharing the gospel amongst the least reached, join OM in Brazil for 1 week - 6 months reaching vulnerable communities with the love and light of Christ. Dates can be customised year-round subject to availability.

2. Moldova: Cycling

The cycling team in Moldova will set off from a central location and cycle every second day to a different village where your cross-cultural team will meet with children, youth and elderly people to share the gospel. 4. Taiwan & Asia: STEP OUT

If you’re interested in a Cross Cultural experience in Taiwan & Asia, then the STEP OUT programme is for you!

This short-term outreach connects practical mission training as well as hands-on experience in Asia! From experiencing a mission- focused conference in Taiwan, to visiting the local football ministry and culture in Thailand, and sports clinics in Laos, there are various outreaches to choose from which vary in length, location and ministry type.

5. Southern Africa: Africa Trek

If you have a love for trekking and a heart for meaningful conversations, the Africa Trek offers intentional discipleship training for participants journeying across multiple countries over a set period.

The programme runs for 3 months, and you'll be serving in different churches along the way. Leaders and participants would experience life together, share testimonies & the gospel at evangelistic events, and further engage with various communities. Participants are helped every day in growing and becoming effective disciple makers, to produce vibrant communities for Jesus Christ.
