On Holy Tuesday, we remember the parables that Jesus taught in His final week on earth. Many of the parables focus on the Kingdom of God, being prepared for the End Times/Second Coming, and faithful stewardship of God’s gifts.

New Testament

Matthew 22:8-10

Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

Old Testament

Isaiah 25:6

On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine— the best of meats and the finest of wines.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Your Word is a lamp unto my feet.

Thank you for the unique gifts you have given each of us.

Thank you for the body of Christ,

and the way you have created us to complement each other’s giftings.

May we find our worth in you alone, knowing you created us.

Give us a clear understanding of how we can use our gifts to serve you.

We pray for your church to be bold in proclaiming your message.

And where there is no church,

we pray for you to speak to people through dreams and visions.

For your Kingdom come.

We know that one day you will return in glory.

Keep our hearts on you, and our minds alert.

Give us a sense of urgency to bring many into your wedding banquet.

Amen
