The word “Hinduism” and the identifier “Hindu” is commonly and comfortably used by Hindus themselves to describe a broad set of ideas, cultural practices and collective identity that is based more on birth community and family than a belief system.

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is a festival of new beginnings, spiritual victory, and illumination. Many Hindus pray, “Asatho ma jyothir gamaya” – lead me from darkness to light. As followers of Jesus, the Light of the World, we believe this is a powerful opportunity to pray that many will encounter His love and truth during this season.
