UNA's an initiative of spiritual and social transformation for underprivileged people. We seek to offer the hope of Jesus through different activities. UNA volunteers work in a variety of fronts addressing the physical, educational, cultural and spiritual needs in communities through sports, language classes, computing classes, entrepreneurship, music classes, drama classes, tutoring for kids, healthcare services (paediatrician, psychologist, psychiatrist), familiar emotional support and martial arts. We also have our mission school. Dates Volunteers needed year-round. Dates can be customised subject to availability Length of placement 1 week - 6 months Cost £920 per month + £50 (excluding flights, insurance, possible vaccinations & DBS) Ages 18+ Suitable for Participant Profile We need people passionate for God, who love serving Him by caring for people. We want to see a vibrant community among the least loved, the least seeing, the least heard by society. We need those who want to tell them about the love of Christ by serving and loving as Christ does. Accommodation There are two houses all equipped to accommodate big groups (up to 40 people) and individuals comfortably. Food Please let us know in advance of any allergies or other kinds of dietary restrictions. Travel Participants should arrive at GRU International Airport in São Paulo. OM in Brazil staff will be able to pick you up at the airport and take you to UNA’s base. Please do not book flights unless you have received an acceptance email. You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the base each day which will cost roughly R$ 50,00 (fifty reais) per day. Health Please let us know any health issues before hand. Every participant must bring their own medicine, if it is needed. Every participant is responsible for their own travel insurance which is mandatory. You will likely require a yellow fever certificate. Visa Each participant is responsible to find out if a visa is required to come to Brazil. Be aware that laws may change. We will provide an invitation letter when required. British passport holders can travel to Brazil for up to 90 days without a visa. Please note that it is the responsibility of each traveller to ensure they obtain the necessary visa(s) required for entry into the country that they plan to visit. We strongly recommend that all visa applications be submitted to the relevant consular website as per their specified requirements well in advance of your intended travel date, this could be up to 8-12 weeks in advance. If a visa is denied or not obtained in time, we are unable to offer any reimbursement for flight costs or any other travel-related expenses. All bookings are made at the traveller’s own risk, and we advise confirming placement/outreach approval before making any non-refundable travel arrangements. Notes Individuals applying must be 18 or over. These ministries are run throughout the year.
